BSI (British Standards) has published a new Code of Practice on enterprise Content Management. It introduces ECM, explains its scope and inmplementation issues, and provides a wide range of guidance. We are biassed, as Inforesight's Marc Fresko was a member of the authoring team. See the BSI website for details.
PDF/A-3 - A new standard
The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) published in October 2012 a new preservation-related standard, PDF/A-3. See the ISO website for details. Will this prove to be a helpful and accepted mechanism to manage some records for long-term digital preservation? We think so, but time will tell.
The first MoReq2010 consultation is now over. With only two or three people commenting publicly, is it the complete failure it seems to be? Does it mark the end of interest in MoReq2010? Or does the DLM Forum know something to the contrary? We look forward to announcements from the DLM Forum meeting in Zagreb (Nov. 15/16)
